Right Body, Wrong Junk

The expanded and updated collection, now completely free.

Between August 2012 and April 2014, I wrote a series of pieces about my experiences as a transgender woman for the (sadly defunct) website The Bygone Bureau. We called the series Right Body, Wrong Junk, because I'm incredibly juvenile even when talking about serious stuff.

When it ended with the tenth essay Pivoting On The Groin, I re-edited and updated the original essays, and added annotations which provide further detail, backstory, and jokes. These annotations add almost 10,000 words to the original series, doubling its length (and, hopefully, your enjoyment).

I packaged all the essays, with the annotations and an entirely new essay, together into an eBook and sold it for ten dollars. Then for five dollars. Now, it's free. It's available in ePub, Mobi, PDF, HTML, rich text, and plain text formats. You can download your copy here

I hope you get something out of the essays. Some of this writing is five years old, but I still stand by most of it, and I've heard from people who say it really helped them.

If you have any problems with downloading or reading the book, please email me at averyedison@gmail.com or send me a note on Twitter. (Although just like when software goes from paid to free, support tickets will be answered on a when-I-can basis.)
